Taxonomy and spore morphology of genus Adiantum (Vittarioideae; Pteridaceae) from Pakistan.

Summary

This study used scanning electron microscopy to illustrate the taxonomy and spore morphology of five species of Adiantum ferns in Pakistan. The researchers examined specimens from herbaria in Pakistan, the UK, and the US. They found that the spores of the Adiantum ferns had trilete, triangular shapes with tuberculate and granulose ornamentation. This research provides important information for understanding the diversity and ecology of these ferns in their native habitats.
