This study examined the effects of Brazilian green propolis on cognitive impairment in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. It is anticipated to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that could prevent cognitive decline.
Different types of propolis have varying chemical compositions due to vegetation and environmental conditions. Green propolis from Brazil has the highest antioxidant capacity and phenolic compound content. Chemical profiles of the propolis extracts suggest potential application in food and pharmaceutical products.
