Antidermatophytic quinolizidine alkaloids from Calpurnia aurea subsp. aurea (Aiton) Benth.

Summary

Scientists isolated and identified eight quinolizidine alkaloids from a Kenyan medicinal plant. These compounds showed antidermatophytic activity against common fungal causes of tinea infections in humans at varying concentrations.
