Halenia elliptica

Ethnobotanical Studies

Studies

A neutral heteropolysaccharide from Halenia elliptica D. Don: Extraction, structural characterization, antioxidant and antiaging activities.

Summary

Researchers studied a polysaccharide (HEPN-1) from Halenia elliptica and found it has potential antioxidant properties. It improved enzyme activity, reduced oxidative stress, and enhanced learning and memory in mice. It also showed potential in preventing aging.
