Invitro and in vivo anthelmintic efficacy of peppermint (Mentha x piperita L.) essential oil against gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep.

Summary

Peppermint essential oil showed potential as an alternative treatment for sheep with gastrointestinal nematode infections. It had ovicidal activity and some effectiveness as an anthelmintic, with no observed toxicity. More research is needed to evaluate its safety and effectiveness in real-world conditions and against resistant nematodes.
