Promising effect of Geranium robertianum L. leaves and Aloe vera gel powder on Aspirin(®)-induced gastric ulcers in Wistar rats: anxiolytic behavioural effect, antioxidant activity, and protective pathways.

The effectiveness of traditional drugs for gastric ulcers (GU) is limited, so researchers looked at natural remedies such as Aloe vera and Geranium robertianum. They assessed their ability to protect against Aspirin®-induced GU in rats. The results suggest that these herbal extracts may be promising alternatives for the treatment of GU.

Pulsatilla chinensis saponins ameliorated murine depression by inhibiting intestinal inflammation mediated IDO1 overexpression and rebalancing tryptophan metabolism.

Depression may be linked with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Researchers have found that intestinal inflammation might be a contributing factor to depression, but the exact cause is unknown. This suggests that new treatments for depression targeting the gut may be necessary.
