Sinapis Semen (SS) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material with various pharmacological effects. This review summarizes its active ingredients, pharmacology, and toxicity, highlighting its potential in treating cough, asthma, inflammation, and more. Sinapine and sinapic acid are its main active components, but caution is needed due to its skin irritation potential. This research can guide future studies and support safe clinical applications of SS.
