Vitex negundo Linn. extract alleviates inflammatory aggravation and lung injury by modulating AMPK/PI3K/Akt/p38-NF-κB and TGF-β/Smad/Bcl2/caspase/LC3 cascade and macrophages activation in murine model of OVA-LPS induced allergic asthma.

Researchers studied the potential of Vitex negundo Linn., a medicinal plant, in managing allergic respiratory diseases. Its anti-tussive and bronchodilator properties suggest it could be beneficial for asthma. However, more scientific research is needed to understand its exact attributes and mechanism of action.
