Improving cellular uptake and synergetic anti-tumor effects of magnolol and Brucea javanica oil through self-microemulsion.

Researchers found that combining magnolol and betulinic acid oil improved their anti-tumor effects, but their low solubility and stability hindered oral bioavailability. This could lead to new methods for cancer treatment.

Rapid screening and isolation of 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors in Inonotus obliquus and mechanism of action in the treatment of asthma.

Study developed a new method to efficiently screen and isolate potential active ingredients in Inonotus obliquus for treatment of asthma. Utilized UF mass spectrometry and molecular docking to identify inhibitors of 5-LOX, followed by isolation of betulin, lanosterol, and quercetin.
