Antiviral Mechanisms of Saucerneol from Saururus chinensis against Enterovirus A71, Coxsackievirus A16, and Coxsackievirus B3: Role of Mitochondrial ROS and the STING/TKB-1/IRF3 Pathway.

Compound saucerneol from [unspecified source] is a promising antiviral against Enterovirus A71, coxsackievirus A16, and coxsackievirus B3. It suppresses virus replication, relieves pancreatitis, and activates the STING/TBK-1/IRF3 pathway. Further research is needed on safety and effectiveness for antiviral strategies.

Indian Almond (Terminalia catappa Linn.) Leaf Extract Extends Lifespan by Improving Lipid Metabolism and Antioxidant Activity Dependent on AMPK Signaling Pathway in Caenorhabditis elegans under High-Glucose-Diet Conditions.

Indian almond leaf extract (TCE) with high flavonoid and phenolic content showed antioxidant and antiaging effects in obese worms. TCE inhibited lipid and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and prolonged lifespan by downregulating atgl-1, daf-16, and skn-1 genes. TCE may have potential for antiaging under metabolic disorders.

Comparative Metabolome and Transcriptome Analyses Reveal the Regulatory Mechanism of Purple Leafstalk Production in Taro (Colocasia esculenta L. Schott).

Scientists analyzed the metabolome and transcriptome of purple taro leafstalks, discovering 187 flavonoids and 5 anthocyanins at higher concentrations than green leafstalks. This research provides insights into the color mechanism of purple taro leafstalks.

Antimicrobial Properties Related to Anti-Acne and Deodorant Efficacy of Hedychium coronarium J. Koenig Extracts from Pulsed Electric Field Extraction.

This study found that using pulsed electric field (PEF) extraction increased the yield of extract and enhanced its antimicrobial properties. The leaf extract showed stronger effects against body odor and acne. The findings suggest the potential of PEF-extracted extract for acne treatment and deodorant use.

Genome-wide identification of the MADS-box gene family in Avena sativa and its role in photoperiod-insensitive oat.

Scientists developed photoperiod-insensitive oats that can grow and flower under short-day conditions by studying MADS-box genes that regulate plant flowering. This finding has important implications for improving oat cultivation and understanding flowering mechanisms in crop plants.
