In-vivo anti-hyperglycemic effect of herbal extracts Tribulus terrestris (L) and Curcuma amada (R) on streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats and its associated histopathological studies.

This study found that a combined herbal extract of TT and CA effectively reduced blood glucose levels, increased insulin and glycogen levels, and decreased HbA1c, urea, and creatinine levels in diabetic rats. The extract could be a potential natural antidiabetic agent.

Cardiac glycosides protect wormseed wallflower (Erysimum cheiranthoides) against some, but not all, glucosinolate-adapted herbivores.

Researchers studied how the evolution of a new defensive compound in a plant affects its interactions with herbivores. They identified enzymes involved in the production of the compound and found that it effectively defended against some, but not all, specialist herbivores. This research helps understand the chemical arms race between plants and insects.

Viscum album, as alternative and bridge to palliative chemotherapy in recurrent gallbladder cancer following laparoscopic radical cholecystectomy: a case report.

A 78-year-old woman with gallbladder cancer refused further chemotherapy after recurrence. She started Viscum album therapy, which decreased metastases and reduced CA19-9 levels. This therapy could be a bridge to palliative chemotherapy for patients unable to undergo standard treatment for recurrent gallbladder cancer.

Targeted inhibition of the HNF1A/SHH axis by triptolide overcomes paclitaxel resistance in non-small cell lung cancer.

Triptolide, a compound from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F, enhances the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating paclitaxel-resistant lung cancer cells by inhibiting the HNF1A/SHH/ABCB1 pathway. This study suggests potential use of triptolide as a therapy for patients with paclitaxel resistance.
