Molecular weight-dependent antitumor effects of prunes-derived type I arabinogalactan on human and murine triple wild-type melanomas.

Prune tea compounds (AGI-78KDa and AGI-12KDa) showed promise in reducing invasiveness and slowing proliferation in metastatic melanoma cells. In silico analysis indicated their potential therapeutic use and emphasized the significance of molecular weight for their antitumor effects.

Agroinfiltration-based transient genome editing for targeting phytoene desaturase gene in kinnow mandarin (C. reticulata Blanco).

Researchers used CRISPR/Cas9 technology to edit the genome of kinnow mandarin, a type of citrus crop. They successfully knocked out the phytoene desaturase gene, resulting in albino patches. This method provides a way to study and genetically transform kinnow mandarin in the future.

Effects of RNA silencing during antagonism between citrus exocortis viroid and citrus bark cracking viroid in Etrog citron (Citrus medica).

This study explored the antagonism between Citrus exocortis viroid (CEVd) and citrus bark cracking viroid (CBCVd) in mixed infections. When CBCVd was inoculated before CEVd, it reduced CEVd levels and symptoms. RNA silencing likely plays a role in this interaction, providing insights into long noncoding RNAs in woody plants.

Influence of acute dietary nitrate supplementation timing on nitrate metabolism, central and peripheral blood pressure and exercise tolerance in young men.

They found that beetroot juice increases nitrite in the blood, lowers blood pressure, and improves exercise performance, especially in the afternoon. Time of day can affect results.

The hepato- and neuroprotective effect of gold Casuarina equisetifolia bark nano-extract against Chlorpyrifos-induced toxicity in rats.

Researchers discovered that the bark of Casuarina equisetifolia contains substances that can be used to make gold nanoparticles. These nanoparticles were found to be helpful in reducing the toxicity caused by Chlorpyrifos in rats.

Artemisia vulgaris Induces Tumor-Selective Ferroptosis and Necroptosis via Lysosomal Ca(2+) Signaling.

Researchers tested the extract of Artemisia vulgaris on breast cancer cells, leukemia cells, and fibroblasts. They analyzed its chemical composition and observed its effects. The findings may have implications for potential cancer treatments.

A combinatorial approach of Monarda citriodora essential oil (MEO) and linalool vapours to control fruit rot of Citrus limon caused by a new pathogen, Aspergillus foetidus, and its underlying mode of action.

This study looked at postharvest fungal pathogens in lemons and tested the effects of combining essential oil vapours to fight them. This could help reduce the need for synthetic fungicides, which are harmful to the environment and human health.

Brucine D restrains colorectal cancer tumorigenesis and autophagy by downregulating circ_0068464.

Bruceine D (BD) from Brucea javanica inhibits colorectal cancer (CRC) cell proliferation, invasion, and autophagy, while promoting apoptosis. This is mediated by BD's regulation of the circ_0068464/miR-520h/ATG5 axis, suggesting potential as a CRC treatment.
