Researchers identified and characterized 25 watermelon genes involved in growth, development, and stress response. These genes may have functional interactions in stress hormone networks. Understanding their roles will be important for studying stress and hormone signaling pathways.
The study evaluated the effect of a plant extract on hormone levels and cholesterol in a rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Results suggest the extract may have potential in treating PCOS by normalizing hormones and cholesterol levels.
