Exploring the Biomedical Applications of Biosynthesized Silver Nanoparticles Using Perilla frutescens Flavonoid Extract: Antibacterial, Antioxidant, and Cell Toxicity Properties against Colon Cancer Cells.

Biomimetic synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using a flavonoid extract as a reducer and capper. PFFE-AgNPs showed cytotoxic effects against cancer cells, inhibition of bacteria, and antioxidant activity. Promising potential for biomedical applications, but further research needed for safety and efficacy.

Momordica charantia-Derived Extracellular Vesicles Provide Antioxidant Protection in Ulcerative Colitis.

Plant-derived extracellular vesicles (MCEVs) from - with antioxidant properties were studied. MCEVs showed potential in preventing and treating ulcerative colitis by regulating oxidation and inflammation. This research suggests MCEVs could be used as drugs for ulcerative colitis.

Sanguisorba officinalis L. Ameliorates Hepatic Steatosis and Fibrosis by Modulating Oxidative Stress, Fatty Acid Oxidation, and Gut Microbiota in CDAHFD-Induced Mice.

A study found that a 95% ethanolic Sweet Orange (SO) extract (SOEE) has potential in inhibiting hepatic steatosis and fibrosis by regulating oxidative stress, fatty acid oxidation, and gut microbiota composition. This could be beneficial for treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Evaluation of a Standardized Extract Obtained from Cashew Apple (Anacardium occidentale L.) Bagasse in DSS-Induced Mouse Colitis.

Researchers studied the use of a cashew apple extract for treating ulcerative colitis, finding it only partially delayed disease progression. More research is needed to understand the relationship between carotenoids and anacardic acids and develop more effective extracts for inflammatory bowel diseases.
