Hepatotoxicity effects of Ageratina adenophora, as indicated by network toxicology combined with metabolomics and transcriptomics.

The study examined the toxic mechanisms of Ageratina adenophora (a invasive plant) using multiomics approach. The main toxic compounds were identified, and metabolites involved in amino acid and lipid metabolism were found. The plant induces liver inflammatory damage and affects nutrient metabolism and neuron conduction.

Genome-wide association analysis of anthracnose resistance in the Yellow Bean Collection of Common Bean.

Researchers evaluated the Yellow Bean Collection (YBC) to understand anthracnose resistance in yellow beans. They identified genotypes with superior resistance and identified major-effect loci and candidate genes associated with resistance. This information can be used to develop strategies for disease control in common bean crops.

Whole-genome resequencing facilitates the development of a 50K single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping array for Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and its transferability to other pine species.

Researchers have developed the Axiom Psyl50K array, a genotyping tool based on whole-genome resequencing, for Scots pine and other pine species. It can accelerate breeding cycles and aid in genetic studies.

4mC-CGRU: Identification of N4-Methylcytosine (4mC) sites using convolution gated recurrent unit in Rosaceae genome.

Researchers have developed a deep learning-based model, 4mC-CGRU, to identify DNA N4-methylcytosine (4mC) sites in the genomes of Rosa chinensis and Fragaria vesca. The model outperforms existing methods in accurately detecting these critical epigenetic modifications.

Industrial wastewater irrigation increased higher heavy metals uptake and expansins, metacaspases, and cystatin genes expression in Parthenium and maize.

Industrial wastewater irrigation in Pakistan contaminates agricultural soils with heavy metals, exceeding permissible limits. Plant gene expression related to growth improvement and inhibition increases. Parthenium and maize should be avoided if irrigated with wastewater.

Global transcriptomic analysis in avocado nursery trees reveals differential gene expression during asymptomatic infection by avocado sunblotch viroid (ASBVd).

Avocado Sunblotch Viroid (ASBVd) causes avocado sunblotch disease, leading to chlorotic lesions on fruit, leaves, and stems. RNA sequencing revealed 631 differentially expressed genes, with upregulated defense responses, phytohormones, and gene pathways, advancing our understanding of avsunviroid-host interactions.
