Phytochemical, Antimicrobial, and Antioxidant Activity of Different Extracts from Frozen, Freeze-Dried, and Oven-Dried Jostaberries Grown in Moldova.

Tossers evaluated jostaberry extracts using different drying and extraction methods. Non-conventional methods protected anthocyanins, but drying reduced anthocyanin content. The extracts showed antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, making them valuable in food production for their red hues.

Prenylated Flavonoids Isolated from the Root of Sophora flavescens as Potent Antifungal Agents against Botrytis cinerea.

Authors isolated flavonoids from traditional Chinese herb and evaluated their activity against phytopathogenic fungi. Kurarinone and sophoraflavanone G showed broad and superior activity, with kurarinone disrupting fungal cell components. Kurarinone could be a potential candidate for plant fungicide development.
