Natural Immunomodulatory Agents as a Complementary Therapy for Poxviruses.

Researchers identified polyphenolics and isoquinoline alkaloids as potential antiviral agents against monkeypox virus by targeting viral elements. Natural extracts from traditional plants also show promise. Urgent molecular studies are needed to confirm their anti-poxvirus properties.

Behavioral and electrophysiological study in Colossoma macropomum treated with different concentrations of Nepeta cataria oil in an immersion bath revealed a therapeutic window for anesthesia.

Essential oils from Nepeta Cataria induce anesthesia in fish. Concentrations of 125-150µL-1 safe for short-term use, with reversible effects on posture reflex. Electrocardiographic changes observed at higher concentrations.
