Antifungal, molecular docking and cytotoxic effect of the essential oil of Cymbopogon citratus (DC) Stapf. and Cymbopogon nardus (L.) Rendle against Candida albicans.

Researchers in Brazil studied essential oils from Cymbopogon citratus and C. nardus for their antimicrobial potential against Candida albicans. The oils showed effectiveness against both planktonic and biofilm forms of the fungus, with low toxicity and potential for therapeutic applications.

Two New Phenylpropanoids and a Polyphenol with Anti-Cervical Cancer Activity from Smilax china L.

Novel phenylpropanoids from Smilax china L. showed significant cytotoxicity against HeLa cells, impacting mitochondrial function, ROS levels, cell migration, and cell-cycle progression. Compound 13 could be a promising treatment for cervical cancer.
