Tapping the potential of Calotropis procera hairy roots for cardiac glycosides production and their identification using UHPLC/QTOF-MS.

Scientists established hairy root cultures from different explants of a plant using a specific strain. High transformation frequency achieved. Identified 10 cardiac glycosides in hairy root extracts. Valuable for production of cardiac glycosides and future research.
