Genome wide identification, structural characterization and phylogenetic analysis of High-Affinity potassium (HAK) ion transporters in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.).

Researchers investigated HAK genes in common bean, a vital type of potassium transporter in plants. Understanding these genes can improve plant breeding for enhanced potassium uptake, impacting overall crop productivity.

Optimization of oil yield of Pelargonium graveolens L'Hér using Box-Behnken design in relation to its antimicrobial activity and in silico study.

The study optimized the extraction of oil from Pelargonium graveolens and found that autumn yielded the highest amount. The oil showed antimicrobial properties and was effective against Gram-negative bacteria and MRSA when combined with certain antibiotics. This has potential applications in the perfume, cosmetic, and medical industries.

Utilization of marine and agro-waste materials as an economical and active food packaging: Antimicrobial, mechanical and biodegradation studies of O-Carboxymethyl chitosan/pectin/neem composite films.

This study developed eco-friendly food packaging films using O-CMC, pectin, and neem leaves. Neem improved tensile strength, exhibited antimicrobial activity, had low opacity, and showed complete biodegradability in 75 days. The films are potentially suitable for food packaging.

The effects of blueberry and cranberry supplementation on blood pressure in patients with cardiovascular diseases: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.

This meta-analysis reviewed studies on blueberry and cranberry supplementation in patients with cardiometabolic diseases and their effects on blood pressure. Results show that while some studies found significant reductions in blood pressure, pooled results showed neutral effects. Additional high-quality studies are necessary to determine clinical efficacy.

Application of gas chromatography in the analysis of phytocannabinoids: An update (2020-2023).

Researchers analyzed cannabinoids using gas chromatography, a common technique. Cannabinoids have properties similar to those in Cannabis sativa. This study may help in the analysis of cannabinoids in various substances.
