Effect of Field Trial on Silymarin Complex Composition and Antioxidant Assessment of Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum L. Gaertner).

Researchers conducted a trial to study the impact of growing conditions on milk thistle quality. They found that weather conditions and row spacing significantly influenced the yields of health-beneficial compounds. Highest yields were obtained in the 2021 growing season with a spacing of 37 cm.

Phytochemical Constituents from the Seeds of Capsella bursa-pastoris and Their Antioxidant Activities.

Scientists investigated the seeds of a plant called Capsella bursa-pastoris and found a new organic acid and several known compounds. They tested the antioxidant capacities of these substances and found that some of them showed potential neuroprotective effects against oxidative damage in HT-22 cells.

Chromatin architecture of two different strains of Artemisia annua reveals the alterations in interaction and gene expression.

This study investigates the role of chromatin structure in the production of artemisinin in Artemisia annua. Changes in chromatin organization were found to affect gene expression levels, leading to differences in artemisinin content. Understanding chromatin structure could provide insights into the mechanisms of artemisinin synthesis.

Water stress and exogenous carnitine on growth and essential oil profile of Eryngium foetidum L.

Drought stress affects culantro plant growth, but re-watering helps. Exogenous carnitine improves photosynthetic pigment content and alters essential oil profile, potentially increasing production for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes.

Olea europaea L. Leaf Extract Alleviates Fibrosis Progression and Oxidative Stress Induced by Bleomycin on a Murine Model of Lung Fibrosis.

Industrial leaf extract (OLE) reduced pulmonary fibrosis (PF) induced by bleomycin (BLM) in rats. OLE stabilized oxidative parameters, normalized enzyme activities, and reduced collagen accumulation, suggesting it has potential as a protective treatment against PF.
