Curcumin suppresses the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by inhibiting NKD2 methylation to ameliorate intestinal ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Curcumin (CCM) reduces inflammation, cell apoptosis, and oxidative stress caused by intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. It mediates these effects by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway through NKD2 methylation. Promising treatment for I/R injury.

Network pharmacology and molecular docking elucidate potential mechanisms of Eucommia ulmoides in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Eucommia ulmoides (EU) has potential for treating hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) through targeting multiple pathways. EU contains bioactive compounds such as quercetin and gallic acid that positively regulate gene expression and apoptotic processes. Key pathways involved include cancer, RAGE signaling, lipid metabolism, and apoptotic pathways.

Phenolic acids from Prunella vulgaris alleviate cardiac remodeling following myocardial infarction partially by suppressing NLRP3 activation.

Prunella vulgaris, a herb in traditional Chinese medicine, was tested on myocardial infarction (MI) rat models. It improved cardiac function, protected against apoptosis, and suppressed inflammation and fibrosis through inhibiting NLRP3 activation. The active components were caffeic acid, ursolic acid, and rosmarinic acid.

YiQiFuMai Injection Ameliorated Sepsis-induced Cardiomyopathy by Inhibition of Ferroptosis via xCT/GPX4 Axis.

YQFM, a Chinese treatment for heart diseases, shows potential in alleviating sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy (SIC) by reducing iron overload and lipid peroxidation and activating the xCT/GPX4 axis, which may help in preventing or treating SIC.

OPHTHALMIC WILD OLIVE (ACEBUCHE) OIL NANOEMULSIONS EXERT OCULOPROTECTIVE EFFECTS AGAINST OXIDATIVE STRESS INDUCED BY ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION.

Scientists developed an olive oil-based formulation for ocular administration to counteract oxidative damage in hypertensive eye diseases. The formulation, tested in mice, reduced morphological alterations and demonstrated antioxidant effects, making it a promising therapy for ocular pathologies associated with hypertension.

The effects of blueberry and cranberry supplementation on blood pressure in patients with cardiovascular diseases: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.

This meta-analysis reviewed studies on blueberry and cranberry supplementation in patients with cardiometabolic diseases and their effects on blood pressure. Results show that while some studies found significant reductions in blood pressure, pooled results showed neutral effects. Additional high-quality studies are necessary to determine clinical efficacy.
