Researchers found that Angelica sinensis essential oil (ASEO) inhibits the growth of Penicillium roqueforti by affecting the cell membrane, signaling pathways, steroid synthesis, and inducing cell apoptosis. ASEO also extends bread shelf life, making it a potential food and agricultural product preservative.
