Assessment of chemical compositions and antibacterial activity of the essential oil of Mentha piperita in response to salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid treatment altered the composition of peppermint essential oil, enhancing its antimicrobial properties against certain bacteria. Use 1mM SA for Gram-positive bacteria and control plants for Gram-negative bacteria. Concentration and time of SA treatment affect effectiveness.
