Distinct hormonal and morphological control of dormancy and germination in Chenopodium album dimorphic seeds.
Dormancy and heteromorphism in Amaranthaceae weed seeds are studied. Black seeds have deeper dormancy and require specific conditions for germination. Hormones and genes involved in dormancy are identified. These findings help understand adaptations in variable environments.
