Ultra violet-C pretreatment enhances the antimicrobial efficacy of unpeeled carrots against subsequent contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

UV-C pretreatment of carrots effectively reduces L. monocytogenes contamination, with lasting antimicrobial effects. This method can prevent pathogen growth during storage, especially for various carrot varieties. Future research should investigate the mechanism of this bactericidal efficacy.

Multi-microdialysis analytical system to monitor acetaminophen and its pharmacokinetic interaction with A. bidentata in rat blood, forelimb extensor muscle, brain striatum, and the knee joint cavity.

Researchers studied the transfer of acetaminophen into various parts of the body when used alone or with a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. Results show no significant difference in pharmacokinetics and suggest broad-range analgesic effects of acetaminophen.
