Effect of EVA film and chitosan coating on quality and physicochemical characteristics of mango fruit during postharvest storage.

This study found that coating mangoes with a novel nanocomposite film improved postharvest quality. The film reduced decay and weight loss, increased antioxidant capacity, and delayed fruit aging by suppressing enzyme activity and ethylene release. EVA treatment was better than CTS treatment for mango preservation.

Genes encoding γ‑glutamyl‑transpeptidases in the allicin biosynthetic pathway in garlic (Allium sativum).

This study annotates genes involved in the biosynthesis of allicin in garlic. It identifies their locations in the genome, reveals their structure, and explores their evolution. It also suggests that one of the genes may be a pseudogene.

The Phenolic Content of Pistacia lentiscus Leaf Extract and Its Antioxidant and Antidiabetic Properties.

This study examined the polyphenolic profile of leaves and their potential antioxidant and antidiabetic activities. The extract showed high levels of phenolic and flavonoid compounds and demonstrated significant inhibition of pancreatic alpha-amylase activity. This suggests potential benefits for diabetes treatment.
