Ginger (Zingiber Officinale Roscoe) ameliorates ethanol-induced cognitive impairment by modulating NMDA and GABA-A receptors in rat hippocampus.

Ginger powder can potentially alleviate cognitive impairment caused by ethanol abuse by regulating NMDA and GABA-A receptors, reducing oxidative damage, and inhibiting the NF-κB/TNF-α/IL-1β pathway in the rat hippocampus.

Nigella sativa and its chemical constituents: pre-clinical and clinical evidence for their potential anti-SARS-CoV-2 effects.

Nigella sativa (NS) extracts contain compounds that can potentially prevent SARS-CoV-2 from entering host cells, treat COVID-19 symptoms, and target key proteins. This review summarizes pre-clinical and clinical studies on NS and its potential therapeutic role against COVID-19.

Complete genome sequence of Paris polyphylla chlorotic mottle virus infecting Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis in southwest China.

A new virus, PpCMV, was found in a plant in China. It has a genome of 6384 nucleotides and contains two open reading frames. Phylogenetic analysis shows it is closely related to two other viruses. This is the first report of PpCMV's complete genome sequence in China.

Gastrodia elata specific miRNA attenuates neuroinflammation via modulating NF-κB signaling pathway.

Gas-miR2-3p, derived from oral administration, reduces inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β in both cells and animals. It also downregulates p-p65 and p-IκBα, alleviating neuroinflammation by modulating the NF-κB signaling pathway. MiRNAs have potential as novel regulators for neuroinflammation.

Cloning and functional analysis of the BrCUC2 gene in Brassica rapa L.

In this study, researchers analyzed the gene involved in plant meristem formation and cold resistance. They isolated the gene from a winter cultivar and found that it plays a role in low-temperature tolerance. This information can be useful for improving cold resistance in winter crops.
