Antioxidant and antimicrobial effects of essential oils from two salvia species with in vitro and in silico analysis targeting 1AJ6 and 1R4U proteins.

This study characterizes and explores the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of essential oils from two plants in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. The oils showed high antioxidant activity, and exhibited bactericidal effects against certain microorganisms. The findings offer insights for potential therapeutic development.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) and its phytochemicals as anxiolytic; an underreported effect with therapeutic potential: a systematic review.

A systematic review found that pomegranate and its phytochemicals have an anxiolytic-like effect, potentially providing an alternative treatment for anxiety. Mechanisms of action include GABAergic receptor inhibition and modulation of oxidative stress, cytokines, and gene expression.

Melatonin supplementation combats nickel-induced phytotoxicity in Trigonella foenum-graecum L. plants through metal accumulation reduction, upregulation of NO generation, antioxidant defence machinery and secondary metabolites.

Melatonin at 75 μM reduced harmful nickel effects on fenugreek, improving plant growth, yield, and photosynthesis, while reducing Ni accumulation and oxidative stress. This study suggests melatonin's potential to mitigate Ni stress and enhance crop productivity.
