Target Separation and Potential Anticancer Activity of Withanolide-Based Glucose Transporter Protein 1 Inhibitors from Physalis angulata var. villosa.
Researchers discovered a new potential inhibitor of the glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) protein, called physagulide Y, from the plant Mao-Ku-Zhi. This inhibitor showed strong antitumor activity and could be used to develop targeted cancer treatments.
