Exosomal microRNA profiling revealed enhanced autophagy suppression and anti-tumor effects of a combination of compound Phyllanthus urinaria and lenvatinib in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Researchers investigated the combination of a Chinese herb called Phyllanthus urinaria (CP) with the drug lenvatinib for treating liver cancer. CP has strong anti-cancer effects and, when combined with lenvatinib, could potentially overcome drug resistance in patients with advanced liver cancer.

Red Kale (Brassica oleracea L. ssp. acephala L. var. sabellica) Induces Apoptosis in Human Colorectal Cancer Cells In Vitro.

Red kale extract reduces cancer cell viability and proliferation, induces cell apoptosis, and may cause cell cycle arrest. Bioactive compounds in red kale contribute to its anti-cancer effect, but more research is needed to understand their specific role.

Coumarins from Jinhua Finger Citron: Separation by Liquid-Liquid Chromatography and Potential Antitumor Activity.

Liquid-liquid chromatography was used to separate compounds from fingered citron extract. Five coumarin derivatives were isolated and evaluated for anti-tumor activity, with 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin showing the most potential for inhibiting cancer cell growth. This study informs future research on natural-product-based antitumor agents.
