Cardiology Studies

Elucidating the mechanism of action of Radix Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels and Radix Astragalus mongholicus Bunge ultrafiltration extract on radiation-induced myocardial fibrosis based on network pharmacology and experimental research.

RAS-RA, a key compound in traditional Chinese medicine, showed promise in treating radiation-induced myocardial fibrosis by targeting inflammation and the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. It improved cardiac function, reduced collagen deposition, and protected liver and kidney functions. This study highlights RAS-RA's potential as a therapeutic agent for RIMF.

Puerarin mitigated LPS-ATP or HG-primed endothelial cells damage and diabetes-associated cardiovascular disease via ROS-NLRP3 signalling.

Puerarin (Pue) from Pueraria lobata protects against vascular damage induced by diabetes by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress through inactivating the ROS-NLRP3 signaling pathway. This could potentially lead to new treatments for diabetic vascular diseases.

Evaluation of Sechium edule fruit attenuation impact on the cardiomyopathy of the STZ-induced diabetic rats.

Chayote extract has high phenolic and flavonoid contents, reducing blood sugar and improving lipid profile in diabetic rats. It also lowers urea, creatinine, and liver enzyme levels, and improves ECG parameters. Promising for diabetes treatment, but more research needed on molecular mechanisms.
