Genetics Studies

Genome-wide identification and characterization of GRAS gene family in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh).

This study analyzed the GRAS family in pigeonpea, identifying its genes and studying their properties and functions. The results provide information that can be used for future studies on the functional aspects of GRAS proteins in pigeonpea.

Genome sequencing of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) isolates infecting chilli and its interaction with host ferredoxin protein of different host for causing mosaic symptoms.

Researchers confirmed the presence of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) in 71 out of 100 chilli plant samples in India. They identified five CMV isolates, sequenced and analyzed their genomes, providing insights into the production of mosaic symptoms in infected plants. This knowledge aids in the management of viral infections in chilli crops.

The effect of Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Okra) extract supplementation on glycemic control, inflammation, kidney function, and expression of PPAR-α, PPAR-γ, TGF-β, and Nrf-2 genes in patients with diabetic nephropathy: A triple-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

This study found that okra extract supplementation did not have significant effects on kidney function, glycemic control, inflammation, or gene expression in patients with diabetic nephropathy. The results suggest that okra extract may not be an effective treatment for DN.

Molecular mechanism of quality changes in solid endosperm of tender coconut during room temperature storage based on transcriptome and metabolome.

This study examined changes in the solid endosperm of tender coconuts during storage. Results showed increased thickness and density, elevated protein and fat contents, and decreased sugars. These findings help in managing the quality of tender coconuts during storage.

Comparative Root Transcriptome Profiling and Gene Regulatory Network Analysis between Eastern and Western Carrot (Daucus carota L.) Cultivars Reveals Candidate Genes for Vascular Tissue Patterning.

This study compares the genetic expression of Eastern and Western carrot cultivars. Eastern cv. has more stress-responsive genes and transcription factors, while Western cv. is dominant in photosynthesis and metabolic processes. This provides insights into root development and vascular cambium tissue patterning in carrots.
