Moroccan L. essential oil (ML-EO) is composed of piperitenone oxide, caryophyllene, and germacrene D. It has strong antioxidant, antimicrobial, and insecticidal properties. ML-EO can be used to preserve food and protect against microbes and pests in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
A study found that extracts contain two flavonoids with antioxidant properties, particularly in the ethyl acetate extract. The extract also showed potential as an anticancer agent by reducing cell viability and inducing apoptosis.
Researchers investigated the effects of an immunopotentiator called CPG on the immune response in tumor-bearing mice. Results showed that CPG inhibited tumor growth, enhanced immune responses, and induced tumor cell death. These findings contribute to our understanding of the immune system's role in fighting tumors.
