Evaluation of antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic effects of silver nanoparticles synthesised from Cynodon dactylon.

In this study, scientists used the extract of a plant to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in a simple and environmentally friendly way. The AgNPs were stable and showed antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, but their cytotoxic effect on normal cells needs further investigation.

New Lycopodium alkaloids with neuroprotective activities from Lycopodium japonicum Thunb.

Researchers isolated a new lycopodine-type alkaloid from Thunb plants. This alkaloid and others showed potential neuroprotective and anti-apoptotic effects, which could be relevant for developing treatments for brain damage.

Ethanol extract of Andrographis paniculata alleviates aluminum-induced neurotoxicity and cognitive impairment through regulating the p62-keap1-Nrf2 pathway.

This study explores the potential neuroprotective effects of Andrographis paniculata (AP) in an aluminum-induced model of Alzheimer's disease (AD). AP reduces cognitive impairments, amyloid-β protein deposition, and activates autophagy through the p62-Keap1-Nrf2 pathway, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic intervention.

Structurally diverse analgesic diterpenoids from the flowers of Rhododendron molle.

Thirteen new diterpenoids were discovered in Rhododendron molle flowers extract. These compounds showed significant analgesic activities, with some exhibiting stronger effects than morphine, suggesting potential for designing new pain medications.
