The effect of Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Okra) extract supplementation on glycemic control, inflammation, kidney function, and expression of PPAR-α, PPAR-γ, TGF-β, and Nrf-2 genes in patients with diabetic nephropathy: A triple-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

This study found that okra extract supplementation did not have significant effects on kidney function, glycemic control, inflammation, or gene expression in patients with diabetic nephropathy. The results suggest that okra extract may not be an effective treatment for DN.

Guaianolide-type sesquiterpene lactones from Achillea millefolium L. and their anti-inflammatory activity.

Seventeen new compounds, millefoliumines A-Q, were found in Achillea millefolium plants from Xinjiang, China. Millefoliumine G showed promise as an anti-inflammatory agent by reducing NO release and pro-inflammatory cytokine levels. Implications for drug development.

Deciphering the effect of phytohormones on the phyllosphere microbiota of Eucommia ulmoides.

Phytohormones in Eucommia ulmoides leaves affect plant-microbe communication. Older leaves have lower levels of certain phytohormone components, but a more diverse microbial community. IAA and IP play key roles. The findings offer insights for sustainable agriculture and forestry management.
