Identification of octyl gallate, a novel apoptosis-inducing compound for colon cancer therapy, from Sanguisorba officinalis L. by cell membrane chromatography and UHPLC-(Q)TOF-MS/MS.

Scientists identified octyl gallate from L. extract using advanced chromatography techniques. OG showed significant anti-colon cancer effects in cell lines and mouse models by inhibiting proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing migration. Comparative In Vitro Study: Assessing Phytochemical, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial, and Anticancer Properties of Vaccinium macrocarpon Aiton and Vaccinium oxycoccos L. Fruit Extracts.
