Dietary Supplement with Tribulus terrestris L. Extract Exhibits Protective Effects on Ischemic Stroke Rats.

Researchers found that gross saponins of Tribulus terrestris extract have a protective effect against ischemic stroke, although the mechanism is not fully understood. Relevant for potential stroke prevention strategies.

Blood pressure lowering effects of Vernonia amygdalina Del. Aqueous fraction on hypertensive Wistar Kyoto rats.

Researchers investigated the blood pressure-lowering effect of Vernonia amygdalina leaf's aqueous fraction (VALAF) in a hypertensive model. VALAF contains secondary metabolites with antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, and hepatoprotective properties.

Evaluating the role of Ginkgo biloba extract in the secondary prevention of Acute Ischemic Stroke with cerebral microbleeds by Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping(QSM).

EGb 761, a Ginkgo biloba extract, has anti-inflammatory and thrombotic effects. In a study, EGb combined with Aspirin improved blood oxygen saturation in ischemic stroke patients with microbleeds. This combo could be effective for long-term secondary prevention.

Plasma metabonomic study on the effect of Para‑hydroxybenzaldehyde intervention in a rat model of transient focal cerebral ischemia.

Para-hydroxybenzaldehyde (PHBA) protected against cerebral ischemia in rats by improving neurological function, reducing infarction area, and increasing neuron number. Metabolic analysis identified key pathways and PHBA increased autophagy, offering potential stroke therapies.
