Sodium Houttuyfonate Prevents Seizures and Neuronal Cell Loss by Maintaining Glutamatergic System Stability in Male Rats with Kainic Acid-Induced Seizures.

SH (sodium houttuyfonate) showed antiseizure & neuroprotective effects in a rat model. It prevented glutamate level increase and altered glutamatergic system, similar to carbamazepine. Important potential alternative treatment for seizures.

Neuroprotective Effect of Marrubium vulgare Extract in Scopolamine-Induced Cognitive Impairment in Rats: Behavioral and Biochemical Approaches.

The study found that the extract improved memory in rats by preserving cholinergic function, increasing NA levels, and restoring pCREB expression. It may have neuroprotective effects through modulation of cholinergic function and NA neurotransmission.
